Campus Safety Alert
Southern Illinois University Carbondale police are investigating a robbery and aggravated battery that occurred between midnight and 1 a.m., Saturday, Aug. 25.
Police say the incident occurred on Neely Drive by Lot 15, south of the Mae Smith residence hall.
An 18-year-old SIUC student told police he was walking home when three or four males came up from behind and accosted him. The men took the victim’s wallet and cell phone from his pocket. The suspects than ran north toward Rinella Field.
No description on the suspects is available. The victim received abrasions.
