Candidate for Liberal Arts dean withdraws
CARBONDALE, Ill. — The Office of the Provost and Vice Chancellor at Southern Illinois University Carbondale announced this week that George Arasimowicz, one of four finalists for dean of the College of Liberal Arts, withdrew from consideration, choosing instead to pursue a different opportunity.
The next dean candidate scheduled to visit campus is Dorothy Ige, who will be on campus for two days beginning Wednesday, April 25. At 3 p.m. Wednesday, she will discuss "Educational Challenges for Liberal Arts in the 21st Century" during an open forum at the University Museum Auditorium in Faner Hall.
Candidate Arved Larsen will visit campus on May 8-9. Current interim Dean Alan Vaux, also a candidate, has already gone through the interview process.
