CARBONDALE, Ill. — The School of Music at Southern Illinois University Carbondale offers up an evening of organ works by Bach, Guilmant and Widor on the Marianne Webb Pipe Organ in Shryock Auditorium beginning at 7:30 p.m. on Friday, April 27.

Visiting artist Bradley Hunter Welch is currently the artist-in-residence at the Highland Park United Methodist Church in Dallas, Texas. He won the Dallas International Competition in 2003 and recently made his European debut at the Chartres Festival in France.

Welch will play the Marianne Webb Pipe Organ, built by the Reuter Organ Co. of Lawrence, Kan., with 3,173 pipes arranged in 58 ranks. The Southern Illinois Chapter of the American Guild of Organists, which celebrates its 25th anniversary next year, sponsors his visit.

The SIUC School of Music, part of the College of Liberal Arts, sponsors several guest artists throughout the year. Admission to this public event is free.
