Pulliam scholarship applications are due April 6

CARBONDALE, Ill. — The SIU Alumni Association is accepting applications for the Pulliam Memorial Scholarship.

Named after Southern Illinois University Carbondale's sixth president, Roscoe Pulliam, the scholarship fund was created in 1953 by Pulliam's late wife, Mabel. Four $1,000 scholarships are available to SIUC students for the 2007-2008 academic year.

The applicant must be a child, grandchild or sibling of an SIUC alumnus or alumna who is currently a member of the SIU Alumni Association. The undergraduate student must also be admitted or currently enrolled for a minimum of 12 credit hours for the fall 2007 semester.

Incoming freshman students must rank in the upper 10 percent of their graduating class. Currently enrolled students and transfer students must have a cumulative grade point average of 3.5.
