Health and Nutrition Fair set for March 29

by Sun Min

CARBONDALE, Ill. – Learn how to get your body into tiptop shape at the sixth annual Health and Nutrition Fair at Southern Illinois University Carbondale on Thursday, March 29, from 4 to 6 p.m. on the lower level of SIUC's Grinnell Hall. University Housing sponsors the event, which is free and open to the public.

The theme is "Catch the Waves of Good Nutrition." March is National Nutrition Month, so the fair will focus on promoting healthy eating while incorporating a variety of foods, maintaining a healthy weight, balancing food choices with your lifestyle and getting physical.

The fair will feature more than 20 exhibitors from the University and Carbondale community, including the Student Recreation Center, Student Emergency Dental Service, American Diabetes Association, Barrett Chiropractic Clinic, Residence Hall Dining, the Food & Nutrition 410 Class, US Foodservice and the Student Health Programs Stress and Sexuality programs.

Exhibitors will provide nutrition and health information as well as other giveaways, and WCIL-FM (101.5 FM) will conduct a live remote. The first 250 participants will receive a free "Catch the Waves" T-shirt.
