Min to lead business college's marketing efforts

CARBONDALE, Ill. – Sun Min will become chief marketing officer for the College of Business and Administration at Southern Illinois University Carbondale on Monday, March 19.

For the past year, Min served as a coordinator of public relations, marketing and communications with SIUC University Communications.

"I am very excited about this opportunity," she said. "Dean (J. Dennis) Cradit is a true visionary and I look forward to working with him to effectively market the college, which consistently ranks among the top business schools in the nation."

Right now, Cradit is teaming up with faculty and students to create a strategic plan for the college. "The plan will be a blueprint for the future of the College of Business and marketing the school is a major part of that effort, which is why I have brought Sun Min on board." Cradit said.

Min's communications experience spans a decade and includes stints as a reporter and fill-in anchor at WSIL-TV in Carterville and as a producer for New York-based network television shows "48 Hours," "20/20" and "PrimeTime Live." In 2002, Min was nominated for a National News Emmy Award for a "48 Hours" story on 9/11 families. She is also a winner of the Edward R. Murrow journalism award and Cinema in Industry Award.

Min grew up in Seattle, Wash., earned a bachelor's degree in economics from Columbia University and a law degree from Brooklyn Law School. She is a member of the American Bar Association.
