Media Advisory – Accounting Challenge
Reporters, photographers and camera crews are welcome to cover the ninth annual "Accounting Challenge," sponsored by the School of Accountancy in Southern Illinois University Carbondale's College of Business and Administration. The event is Friday, Feb. 16, from 8:30 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. at the Student Recreation Center.
More than 200 high school and community college students from across the region will compete in challenges that test their accounting skills.
The top three winners will receive scholarships to SIUC valued at $500, $250 and $100, respectively. Organizers will also hand out door prizes, which include an iPod.
The following schools will participate in the event: Christ Our Savior Lutheran High School of Evansville, Ill., Edwards County High School, Eldorado High School, Fairfield Community High School, Flora High School, John A. Logan College, Massac County High School, Murphysboro High School, Pinckneyville High School, Shawnee Community College and Steeleville High School.
Sponsors also include the Student Recreation Center and the Accounting Circle, a group of alumni and friends of the School of Accountancy.
