Business expo set for March 3 in St. Louis
CARBONDALE, Ill. - Saluki fans with an interest in business can take advantage of the 2007 Missouri Valley Conference Tournament Business Expo and Brunch.
The event is set for 10:30 a.m.-12:30 p.m. on March 3 at the St. Louis Hilton at the Ballpark, One South Broadway. The cost is $20 per person, $10 for SIUC alumni and $5 for students.
The marketing department of SIUC's College of Business and Administration, the SIUC Department of Marketing External Advisory Board and the SIU Alumni Association are sponsoring the event, which will feature booths by University departments, SIUC-affiliated organizations and local businesses.
"The expo is designed to connect SIU students, alumni, faculty, staff, members of the business community and journalists, to learn more about the booth presenters, and to share in the success of SIU Saluki basketball," said Bryan T. Stinchfield, coordinator of the conference. "The event will bring together more than 20 organizations representing some of SIU's most successful alumni and most innovative faculty and students."
"We want to celebrate some of SIUC's achievements as we gather to celebrate our prowess in basketball," said Terry Clark, chair of SIUC's marketing department.
The day will kick off with an "Eggs & Enterprise Breakfast" followed by visits to the expo hall for demonstrations, samples and ideas. Organizers will also offer educational seminars, including workshops on "Establishing a Business Model that Works for You," "Market Smarter, Not Harder" and "Selling Smarter, Faster and Easier."
