All-majors job fair set for Feb. 20 at SIUC

CARBONDALE, Ill. — An all-majors job fair at Southern Illinois University Carbondale on Tuesday, Feb. 20, will give students, alumni and interested community members a first-hand look at job opportunities both locally and around the country.

The event, from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. in the Student Center Ballrooms, will feature representatives from as many as 100 potential employers, according to career services specialist Jaime Conley-Holt. Internships and permanent employment possibilities will be available.

Registration is not necessary and admission is free.

Job seekers should bring multiple copies of their resumes and any other pertinent credentials, and should dress professionally and appropriately. Students are welcome to attend a resume BLITZ at Career Services from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m., Monday, Feb. 12, and Tuesday, Feb. 13, if they are in need of a resume critique.

Job fair participants include Ameren Corp., Archer Daniels Midland, The Boeing Co., Caterpillar, Inc., Cultural Exchange Network, FM Global, Hyatt Hotels and Resorts, Illinois Department of Employment Security, Illinois Department of Human Services, Missouri Department of Transportation, Missouri State Highway Patrol, National Geospatial Intelligence Agency, Pepsi MidAmerica, UPS, U.S. Customs and Border Protection, U.S. Steel, and Walgreens.
