CARBONDALE, Ill. -- The 15th annual Administration of Justice Career and Internship Fair at Southern Illinois University Carbondale is an ideal opportunity for students and young professionals to learn about careers in law enforcement.

Representatives from businesses and governmental agencies will set up in the SIUC Student Center Ballrooms on Tuesday, Sept. 26, from 9:30 a.m. to 2 p.m.

Participating groups include state, county and municipal police departments, private security management firms, probation departments, correctional facilities and social service agencies. Graduate schools, law schools and the military will also send recruiters to the fair. The event is free and open to the public.

Agencies are especially interested in hiring people with bilingual abilities, strong communication skills, research skills, hard science and laboratory skills and experience working in civic organizations.

Students and professionals in allied areas, such as social work, psychology, political science, accounting and paralegal studies, are also welcome to participate in the fair.

SIUC's Center for the Study of Crime, Delinquency and Corrections sponsors the program. For additional information, call academic advisor Michael S. Harbin at 618/453-5701.
