Media Advisory – Bob Barr
Former U.S. Congressman Bob Barr of Georgia will present a lecture Wednesday, Sept. 13, at the Southern Illinois University Carbondale’s law school courtroom.
Barr’s presentation, “Are Privacies and Limited Government Casualties of the Global War on Terror?” is from 1 to 3 p.m. The event is free, and includes a question-and-answer session. The law school’s student organization Federalist Society for Law and Public Policy Studies is sponsoring the event.

Barr, a Republican, served in the U.S. Congress from 1995 to 2003, where he was a member of the House Judiciary Committee, vice chairman of the Government Reform Committee and a member of the Committee for Financial Services.
An attorney, Barr served is a former U.S. Attorney for the Northern District of Georgia. He is a columnist and nationally syndicated weekly radio talk show host. Barr also wrote, “The Meaning of Is, The Squandered Impeachment And Wasted Legacy of William Jefferson Clinton,”
