Media Advisory –Saluki Way
Southern Illinois University Carbondale Chancellor Walter V. Wendler will join other campus administrators and officials from Old National Bank at a joint news conference at 4:30 p.m. on Thursday, August 31, under the arch of the Troutt-Wittmann Academic and Training Center on campus to announce the first major corporate gift in support of Saluki Way.
Saluki Way is the plan to create a new campus core that would stretch from the flagpole outside of Altgeld Hall, south to a new football stadium and refurbished SIU Arena. The plan, part of the University's master plan, also calls for a new student services building, a new academic building and modern parking garages.
Reporters and photographers are invited to attend the event that will precede SIUC's first home football game this season. Because of game-day traffic and end of workday congestion, those covering the event may wish to arrive early for set up.
