Michigan alumni to gather for picnic
CARBONDALE, Ill. -- The Greater Michigan Chapter of the SIU Alumni Association is organizing a day of fun in the sun for alumni in the Detroit area.
SIUC alumni and friends will gather for a picnic at 11 a.m. in the Kensington Metro Park Area on July 29 in Brighton, Mich. Food will be served at 1 p.m.
Family, friends, and neighbors are invited to join SIUC alumni at the picnic. The menu features chicken and vegetables. Attendees are asked to bring their own beverages. Guests can also enjoy door prizes, biking, trails, hiking, paddleboats, volleyball, bocce ball, and softball. Also, alumni and friends are encouraged to enter their show cars and motorcycles in a special vehicle display.
The cost is $10 per adult ticket; children 12 and under can attend for free.
