Media Advisory – Engineering Summer Program
Twenty high school students from throughout the region interested in learning what engineers in various fields do are attending Southern Illinois University Carbondale's College of Engineering outreach summer program this week.
The hands-on, two-day workshops geared toward high school sophomores and juniors are today and Thursday, with a second session for another 10 students on Friday and Saturday. Reporters and photographers are encouraged to attend the camp sessions. Today's activities include rocket launches from 3 to 5 p.m. on the west side of the Engineering Building. On Thursday, students will build mini-hovercrafts and race them down hallways of A-wing, room 208 from 1:30 to 3:30 p.m.
