Media Advisory – Deer Education Program
Reporters, photographers and camera crews are welcome to cover a news conference detailing an upcoming deer safety and education program at Southern Illinois University Carbondale.
Clay Nielsen, assistant scientist at the Cooperative Wildlife Research Laboratory at SIUC, will speak at 1 p.m. Monday, May 15, in the Ohio Room in the SIUC Student Center. Nielsen will discuss his multifaceted program, which will unfold during the coming weeks leading up to fawning season. The goal is to avoid a repeat of last year's fawning season, when several members of the campus community sustained injuries during encounters with deer.
