Southern Illinois University Carbondale police are looking for three men in connection with an aggravated battery that occurred between 2 and 3 a.m. on Saturday, April 22. The incident occurred on Lincoln Drive between the Wham and Communications buildings.
A male student told police three men approached him as he was walking on Lincoln Drive toward his residence. One of the men asked about money, and the victim ignored him. The three men then pushed and hit the victim from behind, and an altercation ensued. The victim sustained a cut above his left eye and on his right hand, both of which required stitches.
The victim told police his attackers were African American, between 18 and 24 years old and all about 6 feet tall. All three were wearing blue jeans. Two wore black T-shirts and one of the suspects was wearing a white tank-top style shirt. One of the suspects was wearing a black do-rag.
