PGA professional to lead golf clinics

CARBONDALE -- Have you been thinking about taking up the game of golf? Now is your chance! Come and learn about putting, chipping, irons and woods from a PGA professional during clinics offered by Southern Illinois University Carbondale's Division of Continuing Education.

This clinic will offer two beginner sessions and one advanced session at the Stone Creek Golf Course in Makanda. The opportunity for nine holes of instructional play will be available at the end of each session. The classes are taught by course pro Terry Schwab.

Session I will be held on April 18, 20, 25 and 27 from 1 to 2 p.m.

Session II is set for the same days, but will run from 5:30 to 6:30 p.m.

Session III, for advanced or experienced golfers, will be held on May 2 and 3 from 4 to 5 p.m. Advanced golfers are required to provide their own clubs.

The fee for Session I and Session II is $65, and the fee for Session III is $50. Each class is limited to 12 participants. Customized group lessons are also available by calling 618/536-7751. All participants must be 18 years of age or older.
