Association to host 'Member Appreciation Days'
CARBONDALE, Ill. -- The SIU Alumni Association will host "Member Appreciation Days" on April 15 and 22, respectively, in conjunction with Saluki baseball and softball games.
Alumni members and their guests are invited to an 11:30 a.m. tailgate on April 15, prior to SIUC's 2 p.m. baseball game against Creighton University. Participants are asked to gather at the Alumni Tent, near "The Hill" at Abe Martin Field. Members are also invited to a tailgate prior to Southern's softball noon doubleheader on April 22. The Salukis will host Creighton at Charlotte West Stadium-Rochman Field. Tailgating festivities begin at 10 a.m. in the Alumni Tent, located north of the stadium.
All current members are invited to enjoy complimentary food and beverages at both functions. To attend these events, members must RSVP by April 7.
Non- members interested in attending events such as "Member Appreciation" are invited to join the SIU Alumni Association. Membership is open to alumni, students, and friends of the University. Annual individual membership is $40; individual life membership is $500 and installment plans are available. Current students can join the Alumni Association for a special annual rate of $15.
Building relationships among the University and its students and graduates is among the goals of Southern at 150: Building Excellence Through Commitment, the blueprint the University is following as it approaches its 150th anniversary in 2019.
