Police seek information on missing SIUC Employee
Southern Illinois University Carbondale is aware of a police investigation in Pitman, New Jersey, that centers on finding SIUC employee Nancy Martin, a development officer assigned to SIUC's College of Science. She had traveled to the New Jersey area for business and personal reasons. She was expected to return to Carbondale on March 19, but did not arrive as scheduled.
SIUC is concerned about Nancy Martin's well being. Police in Pitman say foul play may be a possibility and they are centering their efforts on an abandoned rental car and a private residence in Pitman. Anyone who has information on Nancy Martin's whereabouts or information about the case should call the Pitman (New Jersey) Police at 856-589-3501 or the SIU Police Department at 618-453-3771. SIUC's Department of Public Safety is assisting Pitman police.
Pitman is a small town located about 17 miles southeast of Philadelphia.
Nancy Martin has been employed at SIUC since September 2005. She holds a bachelor's degree in radio-television from SIUC.
