Former Illinois Attorney General and 2002 Republican gubernatorial nominee Jim Ryan will meet with students and participate in classroom discussions on Tuesday, March 21, at Southern Illinois University Carbondale. Ryan is a guest of the Paul Simon Public Policy Institute and will speak to institute Director Mike Lawrence's class, American Politics and the Mass Media, at 9:35 a.m., Tuesday. Coincidentally, Tuesday is primary election day in Illinois. Lawrence's class is located in Faner Hall, Room 1005 – enter the building through the doors closest to the Student Center on the south end of Faner Hall. While on campus Ryan will also be speaking to a group of second-year law school students, and be the guest at a luncheon discussion with students and faculty in areas including political science, journalism and law.
