Campus Safety Alert Southern Illinois University Carbondale March 7, 2006
Southern Illinois University Carbondale police are looking for two men in connection with a robbery that occurred at approximately 2 a.m. on Saturday, March 4. The incident occurred on the east side of campus, on the small wooden bridge that runs between Wright and Boomer halls.
The victim, an 18-year-old SIUC student, told police two men walked toward him on the bridge, pushed him against the railing and knocked him to the ground. As they started to walk away, one of the suspects said, "Didn't you forget his wallet?" One of the suspects then reached into the victim's back pocket and removed his wallet. The suspects ran toward Wright Hall, and the victim, who was not hurt, got up and ran to his residence.
The victim described one of the suspects as African American, 5 feet, 5 inches tall, 150 pounds, late teens to early 20s, with black hair, brown eyes, wearing dark jeans and a dark shirt. He described the other suspect as African American, 5 feet, 8 inches tall, 165 pounds, late teens to early 20s, with black hair and brown eyes.
