CARBONDALE, Ill. -- Southern Illinois University Carbondale's Division of Continuing Education is sponsoring hypnotherapy sessions aimed at weight loss and smoking cessation.

Hypnosis is a sleeplike condition physically induced, usually by another person, in which the subject is in a state of altered consciousness and responds to the suggestions of the hypnotist. Hypnosis is a proven method to aid in your weight loss and/or smoking cessation efforts.

The two-session "Weight Loss" course is set for noon to 1 p.m. on March 21 and April 18 in Pulliam Hall, room 112. The two-session "Smoking Cessation" course is set for noon to 1 p.m. on March 24 and April 21 in Pulliam Hall, room 37.

Don Benitone, an experienced instructor, will lead the sessions.

There is a $30 fee for each course. Registration can be completed online at www.dce.siu.edu or by calling the Division of Continuing Education at 618/536-7751.
