Appreciation night features 'Broadway Pops'

CARBONDALE, Ill. -- Members of the Southern Illinois University Alumni Association are invited to enjoy dinner and discounted tickets to the Southern Illinois Symphony Orchestra's presentation of "Broadway Pops," a tribute to the great musical theater of Broadway, on Feb. 17 on the SIUC campus.

The event is part of the member appreciation activities coordinated by the SIU Alumni Association.

Guests will gather for dinner at 5:30 p.m. in the Old Main Restaurant of the SIUC Student Center. The menu will include tender chicken breast sautéed in blended oils, accompanied with oven-roasted red potatoes, glazed baby carrots, and dessert. The performance follows at 7:30 p.m. in Shryock Auditorium.

Cost for the dinner and performance is $23 per person. Dinner-only tickets are $11 per person; symphony-only tickets can be purchased for $12. Alumni members are receiving a $6 discount on symphony tickets. Members must order by Feb. 10.

Alumni, students, and friends of SIUC are eligible to join the SIU Alumni Association. Annual membership is $40; life membership is $500 with installment plans available. Students can join for $15.
