by Tom Woolf

CARBONDALE, Ill. -- Southern Illinois University Carbondale students next week can take advantage of the seventh annual Saluki Finals Finish at the Student Recreation Center.

The facility will remain open until midnight Sunday through Tuesday, Dec. 11-13, to accommodate students who need to burn off pent-up energy, relax or study for finals. From 6 p.m. to midnight each evening, faculty and staff will serve food to students, including sub sandwiches on Sunday, pizza on Monday and tacos and bean burritos on Tuesday.

In addition, carrots, celery, apples, oranges, bananas, brownies, soda, Gatorade and orange juice will be available.

Organizers expect attendance for all three nights to top 3,000 students.

Meeting or exceeding the expectations of students is among the goals of Southern at 150: Building Excellence Through Commitment, the blueprint the University is following as it approaches its 150th anniversary in 2019.
