Media Advisory -- Mock Disaster
Students in an advanced first aid class at Southern Illinois University Carbondale will participate in a simulated disaster involving a car bomb on Thursday, Dec. 8, in Lot 45, southeast of the Student Recreation Center. The exercise runs from 9:30 to 11 a.m. and will include a variety of agencies: Carbondale police and fire departments, Jackson County Ambulance Service, Jackson County Emergency Management, SIUC Department of Public Safety and the department's Explosive Ordinance Disposal Unit, SIUC Environmental Health and Safety, SIUC Travel Service, SIUC Theater Department, Dowell Fire Department and ARCH Air Medical Service.
Reporters and photographers are welcome to cover the mock disaster.
