Media Advisory – Geothermal Energy Project
Southern Illinois University Carbondale officials will meet with representatives of the Illinois Clean Energy Community Foundation, the Illinois Electrical Cooperative, and Egyptian Electric Cooperative at 2:30 p.m. today (November 22) at the new Library Storage Facility off of McLafferty Road just south of Chautauqua St.
Visitors will bring a check to help fund the building's heating and cooling system -- one of the largest geothermal energy projects in the state.
Experts will be available to explain the system at SIUC, the foundation's ongoing program to encourage geothermal systems, and possible home applications for the technology.
This is the first time the new building has been open to photographers and reporters.
