Campus Safety Alert
Southern Illinois University Carbondale police are investigating an aggravated battery/attempted strong-arm robbery that occurred at 2:56 a.m. Sunday, Nov. 13, in parking lot 106 off of South Wall Street.
The 19-year-old student victim told authorities that three African-American males approached him and asked for money. When he responded that he had none, one of the suspects struck the victim, knocking him to the ground. One of the suspects then kicked the victim and again demanded money. The three suspects then fled the area.
The victim was taken by ambulance to Memorial Hospital of Carbondale, where he was treated and released.
The only description the victim could provide was that one of his attackers was wearing a white T-shirt.
