Mohammed named to journal's editorial board

CARBONDALE, Ill. -- Salah-Eldin A. Mohammed, a mathematics professor at Southern Illinois University Carbondale, will soon join the editorial board of the "Journal of Applied Mathematics and Stochastic Analysis."

Editorial board members may only join by invitation.

The journal publishes research on the theories and applications of stochastic analysis or random behavior, nonlinear analysis and models of probabilistic behaviors.

Mohammed teaches a graduate level math class on linear analysis and undergraduate course in calculus 11. He belongs to the faculty in the College of Science.

Mohammed is a renowned scholar who's won numerous research grants and teaching awards.

Recognizing faculty excellence is among the goals of Southern at 150: Building Excellence Through Commitment, the long-range plan the University is following as it approaches its 150th anniversary in 2019.
