Media Advisory – Home Ownership Project

Officials from Southern Illinois University Carbondale will join with representatives of more than a dozen other local, state and federal agencies, community organizations and private businesses on Wednesday, June 29, to break ground for a 10-home subdivision that will be built on Carbondale’s northeast side. The Carbondale Home Ownership Project will provide home ownership opportunities for working families as well as community revitalization.

Reporters and photographers are welcome to cover the ceremony, which begins at 1:30 p.m. at 1008 N. Robert A. Stalls Ave. in Carbondale. A reception will follow at the Eurma C. Hayes Center, 441 E. Willow St.

To reach the project site drive north on Wall Street to East Fisher Street, which is just past Thomas School. Turn left on Fisher Street and go two blocks to Robert A. Stalls Avenue. Turn left, and look for the project sign on the right.
