SIUC English students win scholarships
CARBONDALE, Ill. -- Eight English majors will receive scholarships collectively worth $8,500 to continue their studies in the College of Liberal Arts at Southern Illinois University Carbondale.
SIUC will recognize the award winners at a ceremony on campus Friday, April 29.
A list of winners, alphabetically by hometown, their awards and respective cash values:
Carterville: Melinda S. Burton, winner of the William Lewis Farmer Memorial Scholarship, $1,500.
Carbondale: Christopher L. Stockdale, winner of the Thelma Louis Kellogg Scholarship, $1,000.
Ingleside: Christopher M. Wysocki, Thelma Louis Kellogg Scholarship, $1000; and Carl Lutes English Outstanding Graduating Senior Award, $500; and the English Major chosen by the College of Liberal Arts to receive the James Benzinger Memorial Scholarship, $500.
Springfield: Lisa A. Petrone, Thelma Louis Kellogg Scholarship, $1000.
Winnebago: Emily S. Schultz, Thelma Louis Kellogg Scholarship, $1000.
INDIANA
Evansville: Meghan R. Simpson, Thelma Louis Kellogg Scholarship, $1000.
Terre Haute: Jennifer E. Kirk: Thelma Louis Kellogg Scholarship, $1000.
MINNESOTA
Duluth: Cory M. Dack, Thelma Louis Kellogg Scholarship, $1000.
