Three students win Somit scholarships
CARBONDALE, Ill. -- Emeka A. Anaza of Lagos, Nigeria, Jennifer R. Lara of Topeka, Kan. (1283 S.W. High) and Jared W. Miller of Princeville (8321 Parks School Road) will receive $1,000 Albert and Leyla Somit University Honors scholarships to study at Southern Illinois University Carbondale this fall. Criteria for the awards are grade-point average and participation in the University Honors Program.
Anaza, the daughter of Omeba A. Anaza, is a junior in management. Lara, the daughter of Felix and Rose Lara, is a junior in cinema and photography. Miller, the son of Wayne and Jane Miller, is a junior in civil engineering.
