Alumni Member Night at Shryock is Dec. 3
CARBONDALE, Ill. - - Members of the Southern Illinois University Carbondale Alumni Association are invited to receive discounted tickets to holiday festivities on Friday, Dec. 3, at Shryock Auditorium and the Student Center.
Alumni members can purchase tickets to the Charles Dickens classic, "A Christmas Carol." Before the performance, members will gather for dinner at 6 p.m. in the Old Main Room of the SIUC Student Center. The Christmas program begins at 7:30 p.m.
The SIU Alumni Association is coordinating the activities as part of its SIU Alumni Member Night at Shryock festivities.
Cost to attend the dinner and program is $32 per person. Christmas show-only tickets are available for $22 per person, a discount of $6 off regular price. Membership is open to alumni, students and friends of SIUC.
The dinner menu includes flank steak, twice baked potato, mixed greens and beet salad, sugar snap peas, rolls, chocolate lover's cheese pie, coffee and tea. Stuffed portabella mushrooms will be offered as a vegetarian option.
The SIU Alumni Association is a proud supporter of "A Book in Every Home," a program designed to provide books to Southern Illinois area Head Start students. Alumni members may donate preschool books, suitable for young children ages 3-5, at the Dec. 3 dinner. Monetary donations are also welcome.
