Student group hosting fall picnic at campus lake
CARBONDALE, Ill - - The National Communications Association Student Club of Southern Illinois University Carbondale is hosting a fall picnic Friday, Oct. 8, at 5 p.m., at Campus Lake.
NCASC invites all students, faculty members and staff to attend and encourages everyone to bring friends. The picnic will be in the round shelter known as Bucky's Haven.
NCASC is providing hotdogs, hamburgers and drinks, but they encourage those attending to bring a side dish.
As a registered student organization, NCASC promotes the study, teaching and application of the principles of communication through educational and social functions that are relevant to the club's members. Club activities promote interaction between students and faculty and between students and professional practitioners.
Enhancing and supporting student involvement in activities that provide opportunities to build leadership and interpersonal skills are among the goals of Southern at 150: Building Excellence Through Commitment, the blueprint for the development of the University by the time it celebrates its 150th anniversary in 2019.
