Guest lecturer to provide insights into play
CARBONDALE, Ill. - - A special guest lecturer will introduce and provide historical insight into the Sunday, Oct. 3, matinee performance of "On the Verge," at McLeod Theater at Southern Illinois University Carbondale.
Mary K. McGuire, assistant professor of history at SIUC, will discuss 19th Century women and their portrayal in the play. Those who wish to hear her 1:30 p.m. talk may gather in the theater's lobby, south wing of the Communications Building.
Curtain on the matinee will go up at 2 p.m.
McGuire has taught classes in women's history, American heritages and 20th Century America.
She's won numerous awards for her outstanding teaching.
