CARBONDALE, Ill. - - The 13th annual Administration of Justice Career and Internship Fair at Southern Illinois University Carbondale is set for Thursday, Sept. 30, in the Student Center Ballrooms.

Representatives from 25 to 35 agencies and businesses will offer information and internship and networking opportunities from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. The career fair is free and open to the public.

Agencies sending representatives include state, county, and municipal police departments, private security management firms, probation departments, correctional facilities, insurance agencies and social service agencies. Recruiters from graduate schools, law schools and the military will also be in attendance.

The career fair will benefit students and area residents interested in security, loss prevention, corrections, probation and policing. Students or professionals in allied areas, such as social work, psychology, political science, accounting, and paralegal studies are also welcome to attend.

SIUC's Center for the Study of Crime, Delinquency and Corrections is sponsoring the event. Training students for careers and serving others are among the goals of Southern at 150: Building Excellence Through Commitment, the blueprint for the development of the University by the time it celebrates its 150th anniversary in 2019.
