SIUC offering instructional hypnosis course

CARBONDALE, Ill. -- Using hypnosis as a tool for self-improvement is the subject of an instructional course being offered by Southern Illinois University Carbondale.

The course will cover the history of hypnosis, techniques of inducing hypnosis, potential benefits of hypnosis and the basic skills one needs to hypnotize. Trained health care professionals use hypnosis to help people quit smoking, lose weight, reduce anxiety and for many other reasons.

The course will also cover autohypnosis.

The course runs from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. Tuesdays, Sept. 7-Nov. 16. Registration is $49 and may be completed by calling the Division of Continuing Education, 618/536-7751, or online at http://www.dce.siu.edu.
