Southern Illinois University Carbondale police are investigating a robbery that occurred at 8:05 p.m. on Wednesday, July 21, in a first-floor restroom of the SIUC Student Center.
The victim, a 17-year-old camper from Wichita, Kan., told police he was followed into a restroom where he was beaten and robbed by three black males. The victim was kicked in the face and an undisclosed amount of money was taken. The suspects ran north out of the building.
Ambulance personnel treated the victim at the scene. He declined transport to Memorial Hospital of Carbondale.
The first suspect is a black male, 18-22 years old, 5 feet, 10 inches tall, 160 pounds, wearing a red shirt, blue jean shorts and a black do-rag. The second suspect is a black male, 18-22 years old, 5 feet, 10 inches tall, 160 pounds, wearing a white shirt and blue jean shorts, with either cornrows or a bun on the side of his head. The third suspect is a black male, 18-22 years old, 6 feet, 1 inch tall, 170 pounds, and wearing a dark blue or black shirt.
