Open house for prospective students is July 23

CARBONDALE, Ill. -- Prospective Southern Illinois University Carbondale students and their families will get a taste of Saluki style during an open house set for Friday, July 23.

Check-in at the Student Recreation Center begins at 8 a.m., and a welcome presentation is set for 8:30 a.m. "How to Become a Saluki," a panel presentation covering the process from application to the first day of classes, runs from 8:45 to 9:25 a.m.

Between 9:30 and 11 a.m., guests can visit with representatives from a variety of student service agencies including academic departments, financial aid, Career Services, housing, student development, ROTC, student organizations and more.

Select departments will offer seminars and tours of their facilities, some of which may last up to 90 minutes, beginning at 11 a.m. Those interested should check with department representatives by 10:30 a.m. for departure information. Guided tours of campus and a housing tour also will be available.

Prospective students can apply for admission or check their admission status with admission counselors between 9:30 a.m. and 1 p.m.
