Conference explores quality of life for older adults

CARBONDALE, Ill. -- If you work with older adults, you'll want to be certain to attend a one-day conference coming up at Southern Illinois University Carbondale.

"Rx: Quality of Life for Older Adults: Practical Strategies" will run from 8:30 a.m. to 4:15 p.m. Tuesday, May 25, at the Student Center. Sign-in begins at 8 a.m. Cost of the conference is $45 for the general public, $20 for those 55 and over and includes continental breakfast and lunch.

There will be presentations on: spirituality and mental well being in older adults; Alzheimer's disease; aging and depression; legal documents; physical activities for older adults, and what senior-age consumers would like professionals to know.

The gerontology program in the SIUC College of Education and Human Services is sponsoring the conference.
