SIUC hosting wide variety of summer camps
CARBONDALE, Ill. -- Whether your kids dream of becoming CEOs, Olympic swimmers, big-league basketball pros, ballet dancers, violinist or a robotics guru, they're sure to find camps they'll love at Southern Illinois University Carbondale this summer.
The University plays host to a wide variety of camps -- geared to everyone from budding tennis pros, to young jazz musicians, cheerleaders, actors, outdoors lovers and those with other special interests.
There are camps for kids of all ages and interests. Registration is open now.
Because various departments offer varying summer programs, you might find similar sorts of camps offered by more than one department. So be sure to scan the entire list for a full look at the different activities offered by the University's many different departments.
Reaching out is among the goals of Southern@150, the blueprint for the development of the University by the time it celebrates its 150th anniversary in 2019.
Unless listed otherwise, registration is through the SIUC Office of Continuing Education at 618/536-7751. Call between 8 a.m. and 4:30 p.m. weekdays. Or check the department's listings online at http://www.dce.siu.edu and click on the "youth" link, top right on your screen.
