Conference to explore education issues
CARBONDALE, Ill. - Area educators still have time to sign up for an upcoming, half-day conference on "The Changing Picture of Education in Illinois."
The annual Southern Illinois Educational Leadership Conference runs from 8:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. Wednesday, March 17, at the Student Center at Southern Illinois University Carbondale.
There will be sessions on collective bargaining, news from the state legislature, ideas for bond issues, a women administrator's roundtable and the "No Child Left Behind" legislation.
Michael Bakalis, chair of the governor's education accountability task force, will deliver the keynote address.
Cost to attend is $50 and includes lunch.
