Monday, March 1

 

  • Free screening of "Taking Sides," International Film Series show based on the post-war interrogation of a prominent German suspected of collaboration with the Nazis, 7 p.m., Life Science III auditorium, with a panel discussion of the issues raised in the film immediately following.

 

Tuesday, March 2

 

  • Free poetry reading by William Trowbridge, author of "The Complete Book of Kong," 8 p.m., Student Center Auditorium.

 

Wednesday, March 3

 

  • Nikki Giovanni: Racism 101, 7:30 p.m., Student Center Ballrooms. Giovanni, a renowned poet, writer, commentator, activist and University Distinguished Professor at Virginia Tech, will discuss topics from her book "Racism 101."

 

Friday, March 5

 

  • Eighth annual Science in the South conference, 8:30 a.m., Student Center. More than 300 kindergarten-12th grade science teachers from throughout the state will gather ideas and try out some of the latest classroom activities.
