'How to start your own business' class available

CARBONDALE, Ill. -- Aspiring entrepreneurs can take advantage of free seminars this month at Southern Illinois University Carbondale's Small Business Development Center.

"How to start your own business" covers the basics of business startup, including legal structure, governmental requirements and business plan basics. Those attending also will learn about financing opportunities.

The free class is available on Friday, Jan. 16, from 1 to 4 p.m. and again on Tuesday, Jan. 27, from 9 a.m. to noon, at the Dunn-Richmond Economic Development Center, 150 E. Pleasant Hill Road.
