Campus Safety Alert
CARBONDALE, Ill. -- Southern Illinois University Carbondale police are investigating a report of a sexual abuse/attempted sexual assault that occurred at 11:27 p.m. Monday, Dec. 1 on the jogging path just west of the beach house at Campus Lake.
A female SIUC student told police she was jogging around Campus Lake when the suspect, a white male wearing only white socks, grabbed the student's shirt from behind. The suspect grabbed the student around the waist with both arms and carried her a short distance before she struggled and broke free.
The victim found student Saluki Patrol officers near Morris Library and reported the incident.
