Holiday reception, ceremony to recognize service, retiring employees is Nov. 29 

The university will recognize current employees for their service and commitment and honor retiring employees during a ceremony and reception Nov. 29 in the Student Center Ballrooms. The ceremony starts at 10 a.m. A holiday reception hosted by Chancellor Austin Lane is from 8:30 to 10 a.m. in the International Lounge and precedes the recognition ceremony.


Conversation on free speech, diversity of thought at SIU is available 

The Nov. 16 “Conversations of Understanding” virtual discussion about free speech and diversity of thought at SIU is available for viewing. This academic year, six “Conversations of Understanding” will focus on findings from the 2022 Viewfinder Campus Climate Survey.


SIU’s Paul Simon Institute to host discussion with Champaign mayor

Champaign Mayor Deborah Frank Feinen is the next guest in the virtual Meet the Mayor series hosted by the Paul Simon Public Policy Institute at 1 p.m., Tuesday, Nov. 29. They will discuss Feinen’s career in both the public and private sectors, her tenure as Champaign’s mayor and her vision for her community.


SIU hosting Transgender Day of Remembrance observance Nov. 30  

A Transgender Day of Remembrance observance will take place at Becker Pavilion along Campus Lake from 4 to 6 p.m. on Nov. 30.


SIU’s 44th annual Holiday Craft Sale is Dec. 1-3

The 44th annual Holiday Craft Sale is a one-stop shop to find just the right gift for a special someone or for yourself this holiday season. It’s happening Dec. 1-3 at the Student Center.


Campus units, area businesses can sign up for February job and internship fair

University campus departments, colleges, schools or units that are seeking interns are welcome to participate in the upcoming 2023 Job and Internship Fair, Feb. 21, 2023, in the Student Center Ballroom. In addition, businesses are also invited to register for the fair.


SIU Today holiday schedule

SIU Today is taking a holiday on Thursday, Nov. 24, in observance of Thanksgiving. SIU Today will return on Nov. 28. The last issue before winter break will be Dec. 15. SIU Today will then resume in January.
