Volunteers are needed to help created one of the Midwest’s premier multi-use trail systems through the Shawnee National Forest at Touch of Nature Environmental Center. Two big trail-building days are planned for March 23 and April 13. Full story


Rainbow’s End earns statewide honor for providing quality early childhood learning and development 

Honored for quality early learning and development for children, Rainbow’s End Child Development Center recently earned the Silver Circle Quality designation from ExceleRateIllinois. Full story


Traveling exhibit highlights 200 years of state’s judicial system 

A month-long exhibit that highlights Illinois Supreme Court history and famous cases, including a 1928 case affirming the death sentence of Southern Illinois gangster and bootlegger Charlie Birger, will be at the SIU School of Law starting Wednesday. Full story
