2018 Honors Day celebrations are Saturday
CARBONDALE, Ill. — A celebration to acknowledge and salute exceptional students will take place during Honors Day ceremonies on Saturday, April 14.
More than 1,900 undergraduate students will be recognized. Individual colleges begin their respective Honors Day programs at 1 p.m. at various locations on campus.
University-wide reception will be in the Student Center
After college ceremonies are finished, a university-wide reception with Chancellor Carlo Montemagno will be from 2 to 4:30 p.m. in Student Center Ballroom D.
Criteria for honoring students
- Attained an undergraduate GPA of 3.50 or better, and if applicable, a 3.50 GPA or better in all undergraduate work, including transfer credit recognized by SIU
- Reached the benchmarks of 12, 45, 75 or 105 SIU credit hours of coursework since the prior year’s determination.

- Applied Sciences and Arts:Transportation Education Center
- Business:Student Center, Ballroom B
- Education and Human Services:Shryock Auditorium
- Engineering:Lawson Hall, Room 151
- Exploratory Student Advisement: Student Services Building, Room 150
- Liberal Arts:Communications Building, McLeod Theater
- Mass Communication and Media Arts:Communications Building, Room 1065
- Science:Student Center Auditorium
