Forum will feature graduate and undergrad research, creative activities

by Tim Crosby

Students at Southern Illinois University Carbondale are always doing amazing and creative things. An event next week will showcase these activities for the campus community.

The Student Creative Activities and Research Forum is April 9 in the Student Center Ballrooms. This year’s event will include the work of both graduate and undergraduate students. The event is open to all students engaged in any type of scholarly activities, research, or creative activities.

Students will give poster presentations outlining their work for judges from 9 to 11 a.m. that day. The displays will then remain open to the public and campus community.

Chancellor Carlo Montemagno will open the awards presentation with a brief speech beginning at 3 p.m. Judges will select the top three poster presentations from among both the graduate and undergraduate participants.

Organizers hope students, faculty and staff will come together to learn more about the students’ hard work, as well as share their ideas with people from different academic backgrounds.
