SIU announces 2018 Homecoming and Family Weekend dates
CARBONDALE, Ill. — Although the calendar still says it’s winter, it’s time to begin planning and making reservations for Southern Illinois University Carbondale’s 2018 Family Weekend and Homecoming celebrations.
Hotels and other accommodations typically fill up quickly for those weekends, so it is recommended that you book early.
Family Weekend plans
Family Weekend will take place Sept. 28-30. Among the highlights are the Salukis battling the Missouri Valley Football Conference opponent and 2017 NCAA Football Championship Subdivision playoff qualifier University of South Dakota Coyotes on Sept. 29.
A number of special activities will take place throughout the weekend. Keep an eye on the Family Weekend website for the updated details and event schedule.
Homecoming Week
Homecoming 2018 is set for Oct. 14-20. Numerous diverse festivities will get your Saluki spirit revved up. Events include selecting the homecoming king and queen, the big annual parade and much more.
The football team will host the Sycamores from their conference foe, Indiana State University in gridiron action at 2 p.m. on Oct. 20.
