New SIU Carbondale chancellor invites input into university’s vision
New SIU Carbondale Chancellor Carlo Montemagno invites Southern Illinois residents to share their vision for the future of SIU.
Montemagno, who became chancellor on August 15, has launched a survey as a first step seeking input about what the university should look like in 2025, just eight years into the future.
“I encourage people to respond to the survey without being weighed down by past challenges,” he said. “What are your hopes and dreams for SIU?”
Montemagno said he wants to be sure that all of the university’s stakeholders have the opportunity to provide their own ideas for SIU’s direction. He is emailing links to the survey to students, alumni, donors, faculty and staff, and invites others to participate by going accessing the survey at www.surveymonkey.com/r/SIUvision2025.
“This survey is just one of many ways I will be inviting input that will help us shape SIU as it evolves,” he adds. “Input is important, welcome and appreciated.”
Survey responses are due by Friday, Sept. 8. Visit chancellor.siu.edu/survey for additional information.
